8:39 PM ● Foreign workers chan Not posted for 2 weeks plus and i decided to post a self-composed composition of what i feel of foreign workers. May seem a bit weird but i just have to post it because something inside's pricking me, foreboding? Yesterday as i made my way to the bus stop and saw several foreign working toiling in the scorching heat of the merciless sun. As i waited for my bus, i looked at them working and i felt that they didn't really mind the hot sun or the fact that they were sweating as if they had just bathe. Carrying those heavy signs working infront of the bustop, many ignored them or just gave a glance of curiosity and apprehension. Soon, my bus arrived and i boarded the bus, i quickly found a seat and continued with my deep thought of those workers as the bus driver tried to make his way out (of the bustop), because the traffic was preventing him from turning out of the bus lane. One of the workers, graciously showed initiative and signaled to the latter, prompting him to make a (run) for it. The driver saw his signals and ignored him as if he was inconspicious even though he was right in front of him. Are foreign workers that much of an eye sore that you can't even show the simplest bit of grattitude by at least showing them eye contact? Singaporeans loathe foreign workers, well majority of them do. They feel that these immigrants have snatched their jobs and left them jobless. But the plain sad truth is that Singaporeans find themselves too "educated and mighty" to assume such posts of construction site workers or hawkers. A house divided against itself cannot stand, don't they under that everyone has to work together whether you're a lowly toilet cleaner or a CEO of a company, everyone plays their part to make what Singapore is today. I would say that 10% goes to CEOs and investors, 90% to those who helped build a nation which was never meant to be the bustling metropolis it is today. i just felt like posting this because i think my conscious of some sort is pricking me. totally random |
